For many years, Roxtec has participated in the IEEE IAS Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC), which is an international forum for the exchange of electrical applications technology. The annual conferences bring end-users, engineering firms and manufacturers together to participate in the advancement of electrical safety, standards and efficiency in the industry.
Allen Gibson
Allen Gibson, Global Segment Manager for Process Industries at Roxtec, has several volunteer roles. He has a 6-year commitment for IEEE IAS PCIC in North America and is active also in Europe and the Middle East. Together with other dedicated committee members, Allen Gibson serves the industry by setting strategic topics of interest, selecting technical papers, and moderating paper presentations. For PCIC Middle East, he is responsible for local venue selection and overall operations of the conference.
"Working alongside the other volunteers is very rewarding. It is great to see their commitment to sharing technical information and the excellent conferences. I definitely encourage others to volunteer to become more involved with the PCIC conferences", says Allen Gibson.
"Roxtec's commitment of people and resources to these PCIC conferences is a way of giving back to an industry which has supported our company growth. The conferences are an opportunity for our team to stay current with industry trends, changes to standards and innovations. We coordinate regional meetings for our Process Industries team around the dates of each PCIC conference, which allows us to combine industry training, networking and corporate meetings with the events as the hub."
IEEE IAS PCIC Calgary is coming up this month! Roxtec will participate with 12 colleagues from around the world. "We look forward to seeing our industry peers and clients in Calgary and to the opportunity to continue building our relationships and our knowledge on industry innovations and best practices".
