In the third webinar session, we shall take a closer look at the cause and effects of flooding in infrastructure project.
In countries where electrical cables are laid underground, cable openings are often exposed to threats such as constant or catastrophic water ingress into building basement. This occurs frequently when electrical contractors or installers apply ineffective seals that are not certified with ideal water ingress protection. Hence, resulting in operations downtown and costly retrofits.
In addition, a wet enclosed environment also causes humidity effects due to presence of moisture. This often caused failure of electrical switchgears and other equipments, and may potentially lead to flashover risks.
Such issues can be easily rectified with the Roxtec UG™ seal and Roxtec Knock-out Sleeve (KOS) solutions for underground cables and pipes. The UG™ seals are certified for water ingress protection against both constant and catastrophic water pressures. As they are designed as an openable-type seals, they are also perfect of retrofit projects and can be installed during running water. At the same time, the Roxtec KOS prevents ducts from warping and ensure the desired duct arrangement after casting of concrete.
In the second part of this webinar series, we shall explore the following:
- Typical issues in sealing underground electrical cables and pipes
- Range of Roxtec UG™ seal and Roxtec KOS for water ingress protections
- Comparison between Roxtec Knock-out Sleeve (KOS) solutions and traditional puddle flange
